Scott A. Tacktill received his undergraduate degree from Babson College (B.S. 1990), and his law degree and graduate business degree from the University of Florida (J.D. 1994; M.B.A. 1998). While in law school, he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Florida Journal of International Law.

Initially a corporate attorney for a technology firm, in 1999 Mr. Tacktill accepted a position as Trial Court Staff Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court. In that capacity he served for nearly four years as a legal advisor to the circuit and county court judges, assisting with complex jurisdictional and evidentiary issues, as well as participating in capital case proceedings.

Since joining the Unger Law Group in 2003, Mr. Tacktill's practice has included a broad spectrum of civil matters with an emphasis on construction defects, medical malpractice, nursing home and assisted living facilty litigation, products liability, and premises liability. He is a member of the Florida Bar, and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Florida. Mr. Tacktill is active in all phases of litigation, from the inception of cases through trial. He also has represented clients in the various state appellate courts, including oral argument in the district courts and the Supreme Court of Florida.

Mr. Tacktill is a member of the faculty of Barry University School of Law, an American Bar Association accredited law school in Orlando. As an adjunct professor, he teaches a variety of courses, including those designed to provide law students with the skills they will need for effective advocacy at the trial and appellate levels.

Mr. Tacktill has earned a Martindale-Hubbell peer-review rating of "AV Preeminent," which is that company's highest possible rating for ethical standards and legal ability. He has been selected as a "Top Lawyer" by Orlando Life (formerly Orlando Home & Leisure) magazine every year since 2010.
